  • Silal is part of ADQ, one of the region’s largest holding companies with a broad portfolio of major enterprises spanning key sectors of Abu Dhabi’s diversified economy. Silal was established in September 2020 to diversify sources of food products, stimulate local manufactured and agri-food sectors and support the Abu Dhabi government’s efforts to secure food supply chains as well as to boost the supply and distribution of food in the Emirate. Silal will strengthen its cooperation with national retailers and global distributors and manufacturers to ensure the supply of all essential food products to provide the people of the UAE with access to safe, sufficient and nutritious food, at affordable prices every day.

  • Farm owners will benefit from a variety of services when signing a supply contract.
    These include:

    • Agricultural engineers will visit farms and provide technical advice and guidance on best practices for farming the required products.
    • Products will be quality tested once they arrive at receiving centers and quality certificates issued for them.
    • Loading containers will be provided for certain products.
    • The agreed price for the products will be paid within 30 days.
    • Product samples will be taken for lab testing for quality assurance and consumer safety.

  • Quality standards for Class 1 and Class 2 agricultural products include but are not limited to:

    • Colour, dimensions, weight & smell.
    • Farmers will be issued with a copy of the approved standards upon signing the contract and the products will be tested and classified upon receipt accordingly.
