1. Who We Are
This Application Privacy Notice explains how SilalFood And Technology L.L.C. (“Silal, we, us, our”) collects and processesPersonal Data in connection with applications to the Farm Innovation Fund.
For the purposes of applicable UAE personal data protection law, Silal is the controller of the Personal Data covered by this Notice.

2. Scope
This Notice applies to Personal Data processed in connection with:
a. applications submitted to the Farm Innovation Fund;
b. supporting documents and Applicant Submissions;
c. communications with applicants;
d. shortlisting, verification, interviews, diligence, site visits, and evaluation; and
e. records of electronic acceptance, versioning, and submission activity for the application process.
This Notice does not, by itself, govern later-stage participant, pilot, grant, procurement, or service-delivery activities. If your application progresses and Silal needs to process Personal Data for a later stage, Silal may provide additional privacy information.
3. Categories of Personal Data
Depending on the Application and stage of review, Silal may process:
a. identity data, such as name, nationality, date of birth, Emirates ID or other identification details, and electronic acceptance details;
b. contact data, such as email address, mobile number, postal address, and other contact details;
c. farm and operational data, such as farm name, location, licence details, crop or production details, facilities information, and operational capacity;
d. business and financial data, such as company details, ownership details, licences, financial information, and business plans;
e. application content, including proposals, presentations, attachments, images, videos, and correspondence;
f. verification and diligence data, such as clarifications, interview notes, site-visit notes, and complianceor risk-review records; and
g. technical and usage data relating to the application process, such as submission time, IP address,browser or device information, portal activity logs, and version-acceptance records.
4. Why We Process Personal Data
Silal may process Personal Data for the following purposes:
a. receiving, administering, and reviewing applications;
b. verifying eligibility, identity, authority, and supporting information;
c. communicating with applicants;
d. shortlisting, evaluating, benchmarking, interviewing, and conducting diligence;
e. arranging demonstrations, presentations, site visits, or follow-up discussions;
f. maintaining governance, audit, compliance, fraud-prevention, and record keeping processes;
g. establishing, exercising, or defending legal rights and responding to judicial, regulatory, or governmental requests; and
h. where separately agreed, using limited Personal Data for publicity, promotional, or media purposes.
5. Legal Basis / Permitted Basis
Silal may rely on one or more grounds permitted by applicable law, including where processing is necessary:
a. to take measures at your request with a view to concluding, amending, or terminating a contract or arrangement;
b. to perform a contract or arrangement to which you are a party;
c. to comply with legal or regulatory obligations applicable to Silal;
d. to establish, exercise, or defend legal rights or claims, or in connection with judicial procedures; and
e. where required or chosen by Silal for a specific activity, on the basis of consent.
Where Silal relies on consent for a specific activity, you may withdraw that consent in accordance with applicable law. Withdrawal will not affect processing lawfully carried out before withdrawal.
6. Sharing of Personal Data
Silal may share Personal Data, on a need-to-know basis, with:
a. affiliates and group entities involved in Program administration, governance, or evaluation;
b. service providers and processors that support the application process;
c. evaluators, reviewers, advisers, auditors, insurers, and consultants engaged in connection with the Program;
d. governmental, judicial, regulatory, or law-enforcement authorities where disclosure is required or appropriate under applicable law; and
e. counterparties or advisers involved in a restructuring, merger, acquisition, transfer, or reorganisation affecting Silal.
7. Cross-Border Transfers
Silal may transfer or make Personal Data accessible outside the UAE where necessary for the purposes described in this Notice. Where it does so, Silal will seek to ensure that such transfer or access takes place in accordance with applicable law and with the safeguards, protections, or transfer conditions required in the circumstances.
8. Retention
Silal will retain Personal Data for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Notice, including application administration, evaluation, compliance, legal defence, audit, and recordkeeping.
Unless a longer period is required or justified by law, dispute, claim, investigation, audit, or enforcement need, Silal may retain:
a. application files and supporting documents for up to seven years after the end of the relevant application cycle; and
b. records of electronic acceptance, versioning, submission activity, and related evidence for up to seven years after the end of the relevant application cycle.
Silal may also anonymise data and retain anonymised information for analytics, reporting, and governance purposes.
9. Your Rights
Subject to applicable law and any lawful exceptions, you may have the right to:
a. request information about the types of Personal Data processed, the purposes of processing, recipients, storage standards, cross-border safeguards, and how to complain;
b. request correction of inaccurate Personal Data or completion of incomplete Personal Data;
c. request erasure in the cases allowed by law;
d. request restriction of processing in the cases allowed by law;
e. object to processing for direct marketing, including related profiling, in the cases allowed by law;
f. object to certain automated decisions and request human review where applicable; and
g. request transfer of Personal Data in the cases allowed by law and where technically feasible.

10. Security
Silal implements technical, organisational, and administrative measures designed to protect Personal Data against unlawful or unauthorised access, use, alteration, disclosure, destruction, or loss, taking into account the nature of the data and the risks involved.
11. Personal Data Breaches
Where required by applicable law, Silal will notify the competent authority and, where applicable, affected data subjects of qualifying personal data breaches in accordance with applicable legal requirements.
12. Complaints
If you believe that your Personal Data has been processed in breach of applicable law, you may contact Silal’s Data Protection Officer first at compliance@silal.ae. You may also have the right to submit a complaint to the UAE Data Bureau in accordance with applicable law.
13. Changes to This Notice
Silal may update this Notice from time to time. The version in force at the time of your submission will be identified by version number and date.
